Out and About

The Island of Majorca is one of the most popular Balearic Islands for the British holidaymaker. There's so much to see and do, from arts & culture, wine tasting, museums, it's steeped in history, offers a unique shopping experience and the beaches are in abundance.

For the culture and history seekers the Island offers museums, monuments, and archaeological sites for you to explore and immerse yourself in the history of the cultures that have passed through the Island. A Christmas Eve celebration on the Island to celebrate the birth of Jesus is for the Churches to celebrate the Misa del Gallo or Matines. This is accompanied by the Chant of the Sybil, a medieval musical composition that prophesies the end of the world!

Shopping in Majorca takes on many forms from the unique arts & crafts to the bespoke jewellery makers. The Island offers plenty of gifts to buy, these include local wine, glass handicrafts, leather goods, and those all important trinkets from the flea markets.

The beaches in Majorca are endless. The island has plenty and most get busy. There are few coves and small areas off the beaten track, and there is also a nudist beach. There's plenty of watersports on offer too!

Out for Lunch!

In Majorca the demand for local food during the summers outweighs the supply of it. During the winter months local produce is not a problem and they never run short of avocados or xirimoias. Almonds, olives, walnuts and ramallet a local tomato are used often in local cooking. Tapas is widely eaten on the island and served in most places.

You can dine in a variety of destinations and eateries from a local street corner snack bars right up to luxury 5 star restaurants. Snack bars are scattered all over the island offering snacks throughout the day and well into the evening.
