What is Chromium?

Chromium is a natural mineral found in the body, which acts as a glucose tolerance factor and is commonly used by those who are watching their weight as part of a regular diet. Chromium is also thought to act as a glucose tolerance factor. 

What is a Glucose Tolerance Factor?

The discovery and relation of general health to the Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) is proving to be of major importance. GTF potentiates insulin activity and assists glucose utilisation, including  the production and storage of glycogen. It aids insulin in enabling the body's cells to store glucose for Energy release, and synthesis of Essential Fatty Acids and Cholesterol. The GTF molecule includes three Amino Acids: cysteine, glycine, glutamic acid and vitamin B3 (niacin), often referred to as a polynicotinate.

Many individuals may have a reduced ability to make GTF in their bodies and many diets can be low in GTF as a result of Food processing and modern agricultural methods.
