A.Vogel Uva-Ursi Complex combines Echinacea purpurea with Uva-ursi (Bearberry), a herb much loved by the Native American Indians and is well known for its ability to help fight Cold & Flu infections. It contains a number of compounds including arbutin and hydroquinone which help to maintain the health of the bladder. In addition, the tannins in the Uva-ursi herb are thought to have a potent astringent effect.

What is Uva-ursi?

Uva-ursi, or Bearberry, is a small woody shrub, which is found in many other regions, such as North America, Siberia, the Himalayas and Northern Europe. The plant is short and produces white or pink bell shaped flowers that bloom in the summer. The berries of the plant are said to be shaped like the human bladder and Native Americans discovered the plant's ability to help them with troubled bladders. A bit closer to home, Uva-ursi can be found in Scotland and there even is a hill in the area of Strathnairn known as ‘Cnoc nan Cnàimhseag’ which translates to ‘the hill of the bearberries’.

How does Uva-ursi (Bearberry) benefit my body?

Bearberry is thus named as it was thought to have been eaten with delight by bears.  Humans however discovered its healthcare potential as early as 2 A.D. and the Native Americans soon discovered its ability to help them when they were troubled with their bladders. Unlike bears however, A.Vogel Uva-Ursi Complex ultilises the leaves of the plant and not the berries.

Directions of Use

Adults should take 15 drops of A.Vogel Uva-Ursi Complex 2-3 times a day, in a little in Mineral Water, while children (aged 2-12 years) should take 1 drop per year of age twice daily, in a little water.
