County Lines is a form of criminal exploitation in which illegal drugs are transported from one area to another by children or adults at risk and is connected to serious organised crime gangs. Over 27,000 children are involved in County Lines in the United Kingdom (UK). In the year 2022, police shut down over 1000 County Lines, however, many are still operating throughout the UK. County Lines affects all communities, and anyone can be coerced into being involved. Therefore, it is important to be aware of County Lines and know how to identify if someone is being exploited.
In this course, you will learn what County Lines are and how they operate, as well as the signs associated with them. You will learn how to identify and safeguard those at risk of being exploited and how to support individuals that have been affected. You will also learn how to respond to County Lines, including concerns and disclosures, as well as the importance of early intervention and prevention. The course will also teach you about the impact that County Lines can have on an individual, their family and their community and what support is available.

Module 1: Introduction to County Lines
What is meant by the term County Lines, who is at risk, the role of County Lines in child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation, human trafficking and modern slavery and legislation and guidance.
Module 2: Identifying County Lines
Signs and indicators of County Lines, how people become involved and how County Lines operate.
Module 3: Responding to County Lines
The importance of early intervention and prevention, disclosures and concerns, next steps, multi-agency response and how to support those impacted by County Lines.
The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 15 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically, so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass, don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
This County Lines course is suitable for anyone who works with children, young people or adults in need that may be at risk of becoming involved in County Lines activity. This includes teachers, teaching assistants, school pastoral staff, activity leaders (e.g. sports clubs, scouts, religious groups), healthcare professionals and social workers.

She has a vast range of safeguarding and child protection experience that includes roles and duties such as school governor, adult and child safeguarding responsibilities for Local Authorities and with the Criminal Cases Review Commission to review suspected miscarriages of justice.
